Ippudo KL 一風堂 | Pavilion KL

you'll be greeted cheerfully as you stepped in Ippudo with a throng of irrashaimase! (welcome) by a majority of non- Japanese staffs, or perhaps all. you'll be seated fairly quickly at the communal tables if groups are small. there are more limited seating areas for larger groups, so just be prepared for de crazy wait.

A pot of green tea (non-refillable)  RM2.50
they did not serve tea leaves in de pot and hence, non-refillable.

Curry Cheese Harumaki   RM10
deep fried curry spring roll with cheese. addictive appetizer- recommended!

Pork Bun   RM7
steamed bun with braised pork and Ippudo’s original sauce.
another yummy tidbit not with as much fat!

 Shiromaru Special   RM34

besides choosing de flavour, there is an option of choosing de types of ramen you want: (i) normal or (ii) hard. normal ramen is claimed to be softer while hard ramen is claimed to be more "chewy". for Shiromaru special we opted for de normal ramen. this is de tonkotsu broth with original recipe, perfectly accompanied with seaweed, Nitamago (flavoured soft boiled egg), and Chasu (simmered pork belly) that melts in your mouth. oh my heaven!

NB. additional ramen toppings are available at extra charges (own preference).

Akamaru Special   RM36

for Akamaru, it is delicious and has a full flavour tonkotsu broth but I personally think that it has too much fat and oil in it (taste could get kinda overwhelming towards de end). it is actually a more flavourful and heavy version of Shiromaru I would say- broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. we opted for hard ramen for Akamaru special. and yeah I think hard ramen is more to my type of ramen- chewy. but seriously, de very fine ramen somehow did remind me of de familiar wanton mee.

de dining area was a bit warm and stuffy and I have to admit too much shouting (although trying to be friendly and genki) did worsen de situation. other than that, I have no complains. overall, good ramen =)
