Absolute Thai | 1 Utama Shopping Centre

one good thing about Absolute Thai is that they served their food absolutely quick (in less than 10 minutes) after you placed your order. if you're very hungry and hope your food to be served very quickly but not in fond of fast food, perhaps this is an ideal place for you (kindly note that serving time does not include time to queue for table). I've been to de branch in The Gardens. to be frank, de tomyam was quite disappointing hence I did not put a high hope this time. I personally think that it is a humiliation if an authentic Thai restaurant failed to produce a good tomyam. after today, I've decided to take my words back because I felt Absolute Thai in 1 Utama gave a totally different eating experience.

(CLOCKWISE)
#1   Iced Blended Coconut
#2   Thai Fish Cakes
#3   Pandan Leaves Chicken
iced blended coconut was refreshing. accompanied were some familiar thai appetizer.

Tomyam Seafood Soup (2 persons)
when de waiter asked for level of spiciness, we daringly told him to maintain instead of asking for less spicy (and it was very spicy for me). serving was enough for 6 persons even though de waiter advised that it can serve up to maximum 4 persons (each person gets approximately 3 quarter in their bowl). we felt it was just nice to fulfill our tomyam crave. a choice of red or clear soup base is available.

Sizzling Ming Prawns with Butter Sauce served on hot plate
---recommended
delicious but not so "sizzling" and "hot". kick lies in de sauce and we became so tempted to add another plate of rice. here they served their white rice by plate.

Glass Noodle with Seafood
though yummy, glass noodle was scarce and secondary ingredients were overloaded. onions everywhere!

Green Curry Chicken ---recommended
it appeared green but it was spicy (again you can ask for less spicy). another dish that went well with white rice.

to cope with de speed of serving, I do feel that their food is cooked or at least partially cooked beforehand. somehow food served is not piping hot and cool down pretty fast (it is not really a problem for Thai food though). I seriously hope their staffs can consider to serve their food a weebit slower so that people can enjoy their food more. adrenaline rush shall not be in their menu, right? =)
