2D1N: Kuantan, Pahang

DESTINATION : KUANTAN
Travel period : 100514-110514

if it wasn't for Saam's marathon, seriously I just couldn't believe myself for stepping into Kuantan again. but de second visit turned out to be quite promising, as we have identified most of de recommended don'ts eatery during our first visit.

Teluk Cempedak Beach | Hyatt Regency.
as a visiting guest.

i) The Zenith Hotel, Kuantan.
we chose Zenith Hotel because we didn't want to experience de same as our last stay in Hyatt Regency. moreover, Zenith Hotel is equipped with better room facilities at a cheaper rate. we got a pool view room but seriously de view was nothing great to shout about when compared to Hyatt Regency. it has free Wifi but slow at certain times.

a like for de fancy bathrobe (my favourite blue!).
even though de hotel is 5-star rated, there are still people who fail to follow de rules of wearing proper swimming attire before entering to de pool. again, I would like to reinforce this is a 5-star hotel. is this only in Kuantan?

ii) Cendol Air Putih @ Jalan Air Putih.

my bowl of cendol biasa.
besides cendol biasa, they also offer cendol campur, and cendol pulut. other than that, they also sell curry puff, temosa, and pulut ikan. after trying Cendol Air Putih, we conclude that Mustafa's cendol tasted way much better than this.

iii) Restoran Mei Hiong @ Jalan Tanjung Api, Kampung Selamat.

clockwise (from top):
#1 Stir Fried Chili Sharks Meat
#2 Stir Fried Kangkung Belacan
#3 Fried Squid
#4 Sweet and Sour Pork
de shark meat was one of de famous but sadly I think it was kinda over rated. de jelly texture skin wasn't my favourite either. overall, kangkung belacan stood out as de favourite dish. we could literally taste de 'breath of de wok'!

iv) Restoran Meng Fang @ Jalan Berserah.

de traditional Kopi.
if you prefer less sweet, do remove some of de condensed milk before stirring because it might become a lil sweet towards de end.

breakfast in old style.
de toasted bread was worth trying (picture at bottom right). steamed bread didn't seem to give any chemical reaction to my taste buds.

v) Mustafa Cendol @ Jalan Teluk Sisek.
there was a burning desire to come here especially after Cendol Air Putih. it is undeniable that Mustafa's cendol is rich with ingredients, assuring de same as its good old rojak.

Cendol Campur Pulut.

Rojak Mee.
he defines a successful cendol always come with rojak.

Rojak Mee Ayam.
it consists of an addition of fried chicken on top of de usual rojak ingredients. definitely a carnivore's favourite.

vi) Kula Cakes @ Jalan Besar.
though their business is more to purchase-and-go or online reservation, I'm kinda surprised to find such concept cafe in Kuantan. however, seats at indoor are extremely limited. it is recommended to come during evening so that you are able to be seated at outdoors (without shelter).

de sun being over-friendly.

de leisure afternoon tea.
#1 Mango Cheesecake
#2 Pavlova
#3 don't expect too much Coffee
we preferred mango cheesecake without mango as it tasted a bit of artificial mango. on de other hand, those sweet meringues in pavlova could get too sweet at random bites. anyway, I'll still come back for de Pandan Cooler, something that is recommended but we are missing.

Kuantan, nomnomnom.
thanks for feeding me.

till then, goodbye!
