29th Birthday | Tatsu, Intercontinental Hotel KL

another day, another time, another reason to eat and to celebrate.

from upper left and clockwise:
#1 Chawan mushi   RM23.50
#2 Kani ankake chawan mushi   RM35
#3 Kai sashimi (5 types of sashimi enough for 2-3 persons)   RM216
#4 Edamame shioyude   RM17.50
de difference between Chawan mushi and Kani chawan mushi was that you get crab meat instead of crabstick for de latter. Kai sashimi were fresh, and tuna sashimi stood out among others probably it was de freshest fish of de day. edamame was not named 'fresh edamame' on de menu but it was already fresh enough =D

#5 Uni ikura don (customized)   RM95
this was a customised dish specially requested by de boy. I'm not really a raw food person but I can see he likes it very much.

from upper left and clockwise:
#6 Shiitake mushroom   RM21
#7 Enoki mushroom   RM21
#8 Hotate   RM70
#9 Grilled salmon terriyaki   RM49
Tatsu's teppanyaki was quite a let down. salmon was overcooked and it was hard like rock we should order gindara. scallops could be better and if I were to choose de best dish was probably shiitake mushroom. we had sake too but I never like it. to me it tasted like cough syrup with burning sensation.

#10 Special crab maki almond sauce   RM52.50 ---highly recommended
it comprised of sushi roll with eel, avocado, and deep fried soft shell crab with almond sauce. recommended by de waitress (ini sangat sedap!) and this was indeed my favourite dish of de night... yummy!

from left to right:
#11 Black sesame ice-cream   RM25
#12 Kisetsu furutsu (fruit parfait)   RM30
#13 Mochi ice-cream   RM28
desserts tasted kinda normal and frankly speaking I felt it wasn't worth for its price. fruit parfait was served with a yuzu sorbet that was ultimately sour hence it was good for digestion.
