When it come to presenting the food, each course served was well explained on the ingredients and followed by a proper sequence to enjoy your meal. It was indeed a casual but truly enjoyable Omakase experience for our first time. Meal was served plate after plate with a nice and comfortable pace. Service was attentive. I have to say I love the variety of unique tablewares they served with our meal.

If pocket is full, you can come during different seasons of the year (corresponding to Japan) as Oribe menu varies with seasonal offerings.

Goma (black sesame) Pudding.
Our introductory dish.

We were taught that the torched flounder fin sushi in the middle (upper picture) is also known as "sushi OMG". The meaning is understood if one eats.

They surprised us with a beautifully decorated dessert.

We shall grab the sushi bar next time to get the true omakase experience by watching the chef at work or perhaps trying to get a lil social interaction with the chef. If you aren’t talking directly with the chef at the sushi bar, it’s not really an omakase!

Omakase or in Japanese phrase it means "I'll leave it to you". It is a fine tradition that allows the chef to demonstrate his creativity and indeed this has left behind a memorable dining experience to us. If you have some extra money and don't mind to splurge, this is the gamble that usually pays off. However, if you are a person with dietary restrictions, I personally feel Omakase may not be a good idea as you can't get what you asked for. It is also only polite to eat dishes offered to you.

Thanks for sticking your life with me and may our journey continue to be better and more fulfilled.

Happy Anniversary! :)
XOXO
