26.12.2020 USHI | The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur

For Christmas this year, we definitely have had a great Ozaki Beef experience that we cannot forget ❤️

What is Ozaki beef?

In Japanese, the word USHI means “Cow”.

Ozaki beef refers to beef from Wagyu cattle raised on a single farm that is owned by Muneharu Ozaki in Miyazaki Prefecture. According to online sources, he is the only Japanese beef farmer who has marketed beef using his name because of its uniqueness. One distinct characteristic of Ozaki beef is that while most wagyu in Japan are slaughtered after 28 months, Ozaki cattles are slaughtered at around 28 to 36 months as it is believed that the meat flavour continues to improve as they mature. This method translates Ozaki beef into an extreme smooth and melt-in-the-mouth texture, and has a light sweet taste without being greasy.

The Ozaki beef comes with an exquisite marbling. Those fresh lobsters, on the other hand, are still alive.

Japanese Snow Crab (Zuwaigani) is one of the staple ingredient you will find in the Winter menu.

❄️HOT DISH Shizakana❄️
#4 Charcoal Grilled Ozaki Beef
Among the dishes served, this is my favourite. It is insanely juicy and mouth-watering.

#5 Japanese Spiny Lobster Shabu Shabu  |  Caviar
This lobster dish can be enjoyed in a variety of ways, you can either choose to eat as sashimi (raw) or shabu shabu. Shabu shabu literally means dipping the fresh ingredients in a hot soup. For this, we both prefer the sashimi version as it provides the satisfying flavour of sweet, briny and simple taste of a fresh lobster.

The comforting energy bowl gives us a wonderful way to end our Omakase meal :)
